Eltrombopag is a prescription drug used to treat HIV infection. It contains the active ingredient emtricitabine, rilpivirine and tenofovir alafenamide, and is marketed under the brand name Odefsey. It is a combination of two antiretroviral agents and is used to treat HIV-1 infection, either alone or in combination with other antiviral medications. Odefsey also contains the medication eltrombopag, which is used to treat thrombocytopenia, a condition where there are too few platelets in the blood. Eltrombopag helps the body to produce more platelets and thus prevents bleeding due to a low platelet count.
